It’s been a long time since I have shared with you one of our gorgeous ‘Real Weddings’ and I do apologise. Luckily, I have the pleasure of sharing with you the beautiful and low key affair that was Tom and Cassandra’s wedding.
Thomas Simpson and Cassandra Clark were married, at The Villa on the Beach, on December 27th, 2014. They are a beautiful couple who are probably the most laid-back pair I have ever worked with! The couple have been together for over 10 years so it was safe to say that neither were busy trying to please the other, they did exactly what they set out to do, enjoy their wedding, informally, with all of their closest family and friends.
They shared a beautiful, beachside ceremony and reception with 120 guests. The pair opted for a clean, minimal look that suited the private couple’s style perfectly. The couple chose The Villa on the Beach for it’s stunning beachside location, Cassandra continues ‘it was the closest we could get to actually having it on the beach’.
She was walked down the aisle, by her father, to an instrumental version of Foo Fighters, Everlong performed by Aaron Hamilton, who provided entertainment for the remainder of the evening also. The couple were married by, the always wonderful, Zac Garven under the tree at Cooee Bay.
Cassandra’s breathtaking gown was by Keoula Designs, as were the elegant bridesmaid’s dresses, while the gentlemen wore Witchery Man. The ladies hair was styled by Meg from Wink for Hair, with makeup provided by Emma from Quality Streets Salon.
In keeping with the couple’s relaxed theme, there was no seating plan and instead, canapes were provided throughout the evening by Lickity Fingers.
We loved Tom and Cassandra’s simple and elegant, naked, wedding cake created by Brooke Sauer. The couple’s gorgeous photography is courtesy of Orin from Blink Photography.
We created a tropical paradise of lush palms and ferns to create a focal green wall as part of the couple’s reception. It was a beautiful backdrop come time for speeches and accentuated our fabulous, thrown-like, peacock chairs.
Tom and Cassandra are a private and laid-back couple, who managed to create and enjoy a relaxing evening that was elegant and timeless. When asked what their favourite moment from their wedding was, Cassandra answered ‘partying the night away with our nearest and dearest.’ The couple were so busy enjoying their evening that they didn’t have a first dance, it simply didn’t cross their mind.
We are so pleased to have been apart of Tom and Cassandra’s special day and wish them love and happiness for their future together.
