I’m excited to be able to share with you, moments from a beautiful Rockhampton wedding that we styled earlier in the year. The Bride and her bevy of helpers made and sourced everything for the ceremony and reception, we were simply there to put it all together.

The lovely couple, Meghan Dillon and Allan Hilcher, were married August First, 2015 by Courtney Abell, with the ceremony commencing in the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens under the Tamarind Trees.

Meghan shared with us “We have lost some very special people in our lives so we had a balloon release at our ceremony which our nieces and nephews did.  It was a special moment and bought a tear to the eyes.”

Meghan’s beautiful gown was found at Brides in Style and was by Madison James, while the Bridesmaids dresses were from Forever New. The gentlemen were, again, looked after by the team at Stewart’s in Rockhampton.

A soft colour palette of pastel pinks and whites were highlighted with gold later for the reception. Michelle at Simplicity Market Fresh Flowers put together the beautiful blooms for throughout the ceremony and reception. A&M_0596

Allan and Meghan enjoyed an elegant marquee reception, by sunset, at the Rockhampton Golf Club. As you’ll see, the venue provided some beautiful photo opportunities, all captured by the wonderful Orin from Blink Photography.

When asked how the couple decided on this venue, Meghan explained “I always wanted a marquee reception so the Rockhampton Golf Club was the perfect venue.  Karen from the Golf Club was amazing to deal with and really took the stress out of the planning and on the day.  They went above and beyond to ensure everything was just perfect.”

The soft colour palette was beautifully highlighted with gold through the reception. Everything from chevron, sequin table runners to giant gold balloons were set up to wow guests. The Bride and her team did a beautiful job, ensuring that everything worked together by keeping other items clean and minimalistic, letting the gold ‘hero’ items sing.

With gold featuring so prominently through the couple’s reception, it was fitting that their impressive cake featured a gold iced, centre tier, created by All That Cake.

We quizzed Meghan on what was her favourite moment from throughout the whole day “There’s lots of favourite moments, but we have a great group of friends and share a lot of special occasions together so if we could relive the last hour of our wedding over and over again we would.  When all the formalities are over and you can dance the night away.” Her final piece of advice for other engaged couples is “my advice to other brides is to believe it when people say that the day goes so quick so enjoy it!”

We thank Meghan and Allan for trusting us with their vision for their perfect day. We wish them a lifetime filled with love and happiness together.
